Default Capping Station

Is it common for the pumps on the capping station to go bad?
I noticed that after a head cleaning the ink was not being pumped out of the capping station. I can pull the ink out with a syringe and I disassembled and cleaned the capping station and it is not clogged.
It was a new capping station and print head, it only lasted for about 100 shirts.
