Help! I have 50 shirts to print with a blue and red graphic. The part that's suppose to be bright red is a sorry brown. The blue however is close enough. I have tried manipulating the graphic in photoshop and then FastArtist but the red still prints brown. Even though I have not used the Tjet for over a week, I would turn it on every other day and run it through a cleaning. Any suggestions?
Wow, just less than a week I did a nozzle check and all looked fine. Now it looks like some lines missing. I have put the cleaning cartridges in and ran them through the cleaning about 5 times. Hope this works.
We strongly recommend doing a nozzle check every morning that you start up your printer. It only takes a few minutes and this way you can be sure that all colors are firing correctly when you are printing.
No need for paper or film on a T-Jet 1 and 2 and on the DTG Kiosks. We recommend taking off the shirt holder. Then raise the tray bottom all the way to the top. Then print your nozzle check right on the chrome tray bottom. All the color and white lines are then very easy to see. Just wipe off the print with a towel after you're done.
I have replaced the ink cartridges with the cleaning ones and have gone through the printer utility to do a powerful cleaning about 5 times. I am almost out of solution in the cleaning cartridges and not sure how to refill these. So hopefully this will do the trick before I run out of solution and replace the inks.
Do you have the original sealed cleaning cartridge sets? If so then you should get a refillable cleaning cartridge set (pictured below). They come with auto-reset chips mounted on them. This way you just need to refill them when empty from a bulk bottle of cleaning fluid.
I believe I have both sets. The ones I used were quick to pop in (if you consider anything on the T2 quick and easy) The other set may be the bulk cleaning ones but I have not used those. I think these I am using are refillable, I am just not sure which rubber gromment to remove for refilling.
When filling the refillable ink cartridge set for the T-Jet 2 remove both rubber plugs from the top. Fill a syringe with cleaning fluid. Inject the cleaning fluid into the hole nearest the auto-reset chip. Put the caps back on. When using the cleaning cartridges in your printer remove the rubber plugs nearest the front of the printer. After running head cleanings place the rubber plugs back into the cartridges. This will help prevent siphoning.
Oh heck. Instead of solving the problem, it seems the problem got worse. As I said in my last post, I put the cleaning cartridges in (removed the rubber plug nearest the front of printer) ran these over and over....and over then gently wiped the print heads each time. Replaced the inks, did a nozzle check and yipes, nothing showed up! Put a test shirt in and prints the numbers but hardly any lines. Then just printed an image to see and it printed a baned ghostly print with only outlines of blue and no other color. Now what?
I am using FastInk 3 and FastInk HD Cleaning Solution. I am at wits end. I have cleaned the machine, turned it off and walking away before I take the heighth gauge and whack it!
A concern with running those cartidges with an opening is that you may be getting some particles into the cartridge that may be causing the blockage. Did you fill the cartridges yourself or were they filled by the distributor?
I don't know anything about printing :-P but I was just thinking that maybe since you put the cleaning solution through so many times, there might still be some in the printer that is diluting the inks and not giving you a full stream of color. But again, I know nothing about printing........
Good idea, I did push the ink button about 3 times to charge them once I put them back in. Maybe I should have run it several more. Just hate to push that $ button too many times but if that's what I have to do to get it working then I will do that. Thanks for your reply.
