Default Pros/Cons to pretreating White/Light shirts

What are the advantages/disadvantages to pre-treating white/light shirts prior to sending them through our T2?

I would assume that brighter/more vibrant colors would be one thing? How about less ink usage? I know pre-treating is suppose to be odorless and colorless and that on darks it leaves a gray cast I'd guess until it's cured with a heat press, but is there any residue that can be seen or felt on a pre-treated shirt after it has been printed?

Also I know there is different pre-treatment for whites then for darks, will pre-treating whites give the print a different hand/feel?

TIA

Pretreatment specifically made for white and light garments will not help you out with ink consumption. But, you should see better washability using this product. That's the real purpose. Of course, lots of products on the market these days, so do some testing first.
