Default TJet dead, will not turn on

Does anyone know what the problem may be.

I changed the printhead and ribbon, did a few test runs and it was working perfectly. Then I started having the redn error eject light go on and an out of paper error, which was easy to fix by pressing load. Then i was having a hard time printing for about 10 minutes, tried to do a test page with sporadic results, and then it just went dead.

The leveling laser stays on, and when you press the load button it lights up, but nothing happens. There are no other signs of life.

Please let me know if you had a similar experience or any clues on how to repair it.

Thanks

Hi,
Try to unplug the machine, unload everything and then plug back in and turn on.
Hope this helps...

Check the ribbon cables all the way back to the motherboard. You may have also blown a fuse on the powerboard or the motherboard.

It sounds like you have a T2 and if you do not please disregard the last part of this/ Unfortunately there are a couple of things that could be wrong and none good. Is it possible that you damaged the ribbon or head cables when you installed them? The most common cause of this is damage to those cables. I would pull the printhead back out and inspect the cable and head connections and inspect for damage to the connectors and any physical damage to the cable such as crimps, bends, creases or cuts. If you have an ink cartridge that has leaked you could have some ink in the connection that would cause a short circuit. Another thing to check would be to check the small white ribbon cable that attaches to the cartridge led circuit board inside of the front cover. This board is for the ink out or cartridge out indicator lights and is located right above the capping assembly. Check to make sure that it is securely connected. You may also want to remove the side cover and follow that cable back to the main board. It has happened to some that when assembling the printer after the repair that when installing the side cover to catch the cable with the cover and put a small tear on it.

Hi Carl
Thanks for your reply, I think you are on to something. There was an appearance of a short circuit, cable singed on the print head, a small black burn is clearly visible on one of the connectors of the print head.

What do i do now?

How do I fix it? How do I get the printer to turn on again.

Thanks

Karl, you are right on the money regarding the location of the burn mark, also, the printer does share the plug with the heat press.

I will try what you suggest and let you know.

Thanks for your advise
