Hello,
After doing some research, I noticed that there is quite a bit of debate about inkjets vs laser printer transfers. A lot of the information I found on this forum seemed to be a bit out dated so I decided to make a new thread. Idealy, I'm looking for a method that works well with both darks and light, but I can live with only light t-shirts. I hear that there is a new 3G Jet paper for inkjets that looks promising. Has anyone had any luck with it? Also, I was wondering about imageclip paper for darks when it comes to laser printers? Money isn't too much of an issue as long as I can keep it under the $5k mark.

Also, which would be the best printer for either method? Thanks for the help folks. The amount of helpful information on this website is truly inspiring.

Hi all!! I am very new to this and am still researching the equipment I need to buy. I have done ALOT of reading on this site and I think I am leaning towards heat transfer method using inkjet printing. I have read many great things about the Epson 1400 and I believe that is what I will go with. My first question is I about dye sub? I get a little confused when reading threads and am not sure of the difference (if there is one) between dye sub and heat transfer. Some threads talk like pigment inks are for heat transfer but is that the same as dye sub? Also, can this method be used to also print on dark fabrics? I would like to be able to print on light and dark and be able to use the same set up. Can I do this and only have to use a special type of paper for dark shirts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to make sure I don't waste money and get the right equipment the first time. THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE :)

I have not knowingly altered any settings, but everything i now print is coming out almost luminous!! I have bright reds printing where there should be browns!!!

I have a sawgrass ICC ArTainium profile installed..I checked it, I think its as it should be... I have tried playing around with every setting I can think of but it always prints the same...mostly reds everywhere!!

I use photoshop to print my images, which are photos & graphics... I can't see I have changed anything here either!

I am having to refund customers, because I cannot print!! I am tearing my hair out here! There doesn't seem to be anyone to help when your printer goes wrong...Epson just say they can't help because I am not using genuine inks/paper!!

Hope someone may have an idea of what I can do...Thanks in advance!!!
I been doing some reseach on this forum BTW"Perfect Resouce here" about printing and decided to start printing out logo of my own on T-shirts. I was thinking about screen printing but then Heat press caught my eye and I'm going to stick with it.

So here's my question, What is the best/low cost printer that is available. I plan to make logo's up to 15X15. Any ideas? How about this printer to start with, the Brother MFC5890CN. I know I can't print the size I wan't but I can always improvise.

Can't wait to hear all input's about this. Thanks in advance.:)

I tried posting in the sublimation forum, but haven't received much for replies. I thought I might try here. I am having some strange results with my color when printing to my Workforce 30 printer using ArTainium ink on ImageRight sublimation paper. The colors all look much different than that of my pigmented heat transfer ink on JPSS paper. The blacks, greys, and silvers are all a little on the purple side, and the red has a slightly orange tint to it. I used the color correction software from coastal business made for the sawgrass ink, with my printer, and I'm using their paper. I'm sure it is configured as they describe and it is using their ICC Profile. Anyone have any suggestions?
