Im quite tempted to get one because of the cheap price but ive asked the store attendant, they said that the warranty is only 1 month... I was like whoa! 1 month?? What if it will break after 1 month? Good bye my precious money.. They also cant answer me if hows the technical assistance like if what went wrong after the end of warranty..

Is it really ok if I will buy those china made plotters? Im afraid it will not last long compared to those other mahal na plotters.
Im worried about the pocket or the hood getting in the way. Is there a platen i can buy for this sort of thing? Or would it be better to try using cardboard of something to make a sink for it?

I know theres a bit of a difference with the off contact and the curing time for sweatshirts but i don't know how different. (My flash drier usually takes about 35-40 seconds to cure a cotton tshirt if that info helps at all)

thanks for any help!

I've been knock'in the idea of purchasing a dtg machine for sometime, and have finally reached a decision to go with a GT-541. Now my decision is new vs used. I know this machine is built like a pig - sturdy & dependable, so I'm fairly comfortable buying used - if I can determine if it was treated reasonably well. Any suggestions on things I should look for on the printer when inspecting it? What would be considered too many prints on the counter? Suppose this can be reset? When do print heads generally need replacing? And finally new vs used, what price would you say - heck, it's not worth the risk of potential headaches - I'll just buy new. I hope to make a decision by the end of the month. Thanks everyone.

Hello tshirt forums, forgive me for my newbieness!

My 100% cotton shirts have faded designs after a wash or two! I cured it for about 35-40 seconds, when i pull it off its either ready to smoke or barely smoking. I searched a bit before posting so i think i have a general idea of why it would fade, but i thought that smoking would be a sign that it will scorch soon?

The design is actually pretty large so it "fits" the size of my flash drier, and since it's only faded around the edges, could it be that it's not curing properly on the sides?

If this is the case, would curing half and half work? Like cure half the design, then shift it over and cure the other side? Im worried about scorching. Just how much does it take to get a shirt to scorch?

Thanks for any advice.

Question for you guys:

I am a printer in Ann Arbor, and as such, do a ton of work for local student groups at UM. I've heard a lot of info both ways regarding printing Michigan's Block M (trademarked). I am NOT trying to print these for retail, and understand I'd need licensing to do that.

But if, for example, the Naval ROTC program comes to me and says "we'd like to have the block M put on t-shirts with "Naval ROTC" underneath," do I really need to get permission from the University to do so? This is an officially affiliated program, with an authorized rep contacting me. I feel like if I do need to get licensing, then why should I be able to print for any company without getting licensed (i.e. if the local Dominoes chain wanted worker shirts, shouldn't I have to get permission from Dominoes' corporate before using their logo)?

I have the gut feeling that I'm in the right here, but don't know my @SS from a hole in the ground when it comes to IP.

Any help from people who know what they are talking about is appreciated!

Jerry
