Default Embroidering Names

I am looking for someone that would not mind embroidering names on small orders - sometimes only 1 - 2 garments at a time. I would ship them / drop them and arrrange for pickup. I am in CT.

If you don't get any viable replies, I would post a notice on the bulletin board at your nearest sewing store. Most of those ladies (and men) can handle simple name jobs on their home embroidery machine.

We can do that kind of work but the shipping both ways might be more than you want to spend.

A lot of places don't want to handle customer supplied items. If you stop and think about it, you are probably looking for a price around a couple of bucks for each name. At the same time, the risk to the embroiderer is probably much higher... if they damage the garment and have to replace it, it's a losing proposition... Just something else to consider...

I think you'll be able to find someone local to you. When I had my shop, I had a no minimum piece policy, but had a minimum $ order for customer supplied goods, so it was worth it to me take small orders.

Besides checking the bulliten board of your local fabric shop, also check the sewing machine shops that sell embroidery machines and supplies. I used to get quite a bit of work through them. If there's a crafters co-op in your area, check there....or attend some craft fairs (tis the season), you'll probably come across some independent crafters who would love to have your business.

Try to find someone locally. Those most likely interested in taking on 1 or 2 names ocassionally will likely be a home embroiderer.
