Default embroidery knit caps

I am embroidering knit caps and am having a problem with the design going out of registration. It embroiders fine
on jersey knit material. Any suggestions.

Lay down a light fill foundation before starting the design. Expecting a design that runs well on jersey knit to also run on a knit cap is expecting too much.

I'm assuming you're using a topping too. If not, do that as well as some under-stitching.

Glad it worked. That technique works with sweaters, heavy fleece, some baby blankets, just about anything that requires stabalization. And if you do it tone-on-tone it looks fine.
