Yea that's a tough one. The logo on my shirt now is a lettering only logo and is 1.5 W X 1.25 H and is 4500 stitches. I just finished a logo for caps that is 2" and 3.75" wide and it has 13000 stitches.
The 'typical' corporate logo, about business card size, would be 7 to 8 thousand stitches. If it is heavy on fill areas or has a couple lines of small text it can go higher.
Our 'typical' school logo is substantially larger and the stitch count pushes 12000 on average.
what would be the logo size of a 7000 stich logo? ball park ?
That's a tough one, how long is a string of yarn? I've done cap logos at 2.5" round with 8000+ stitches, yet my last jacket back was 7500 stitches, mostly the outline of a speed boat design.
Chances are it's a regular left chest logo, but it really could be anything. Your pricing should still be determined mainly on the stitch count, so it's still 7K stitches what you're looking at, whether 2" tall or 10" wide.
Inktoink, you are probably asking because your client doesnt want to show you the design but has asked you to quote the embroidery price for a 7000 sts design right??? most likely its a large design in satin stitches... if you are going to quote Id get your client to send you a pic of the design with dimensions....we never quote just on stitchcount basis....it could be 7000sts with 15 colours and 50 trims!!!!
