Default Tajima question

Can a Tajima TMEX c-1201 be connected directly to a computer in order to transfer designs? If so, is it a matter of simply connecting it via appropriate cable and having software that can send designs to a commercial machine? --Liz

Liz,
All newer machines can be connected to a computer either via serial or usb ports. I think Barudan is the only one that has the older serial connections and not a usb connection. From what I know of Tajima, they have the best support so you could either go to their site or join the yahoo tajima group. I run Barudans and Brothers and they are all hooked up to a computer. You are correct that all that is involved is usually hooking up to a computer and send the design via software to it.

Thanks, Jim. I did email Hirsch but wasn't expecting an answer (they answered first thing this morning!). The manual for my machine mentions uses for the serial and parallel ports, but never mentions hooking it up to a computer. I'm a bit technologically challenged and didn't want to hook it up before being sure I could (I can). Now all I have to figure out is if my Sierra Embroidery Office Edit 2 software will work with my Tajima. --Liz
