Hi, I am looking to have a small logo embroidered on the bottom corner of a handful of my shirts. It is simply my company name and it will be about 1.75" wide and about .6" high.
I know many of our members do their own embroidery, and I was wondering if anybody here would be able to digitize this simple logo for me. Please let me know if you would be so kind, your help is greatly appreciated.
the image is attached to this post, but if that does not work please PM me and I will send it. Thanks very much!
When are you needing this? I would be interested in doing this for you so that I could get some practice. I need to practice on some digitizing for my stuff and this seems basic. Let me know.
How sure are you on that size? Also to properly set this up, one would need to know the fabric and perhaps the contrast of the thread. For many fabrics, you might be below the threshold on column width(from what I can tell). If you look at the grid in the attached screenshot, it is set up to show me a scale 0f 1.2 mm. When using 40 wt thread on jersey or pique, I would not make columns any thinner or I would get bad embroidery (in most cases). Also at this size, you need to realize that loops and the "holes in letters have to be tweaked to make sure the job is succesful. If you can do this using 60 wt and thinner needles, this would work better also.

Are saying for example the top of the "T" would not come out very well since it is thinner then the columns on your grid? Also is that a pretty good standard to stick to that nothing should be less than 1.2mm or is that just for a certain fabric type (or am I just totally not understanding what you are saying). Thanks Troy
I'm saying, that during the process of doing the digitizing I would choose to make the columns slightly wider (and ading pull comp) in a way to become twice the thickness of the needle used, without closing in the loops... thereby "altering" the art slightly to make it friendy to the proccess.

there is no set date that I would need it by... My local shop can have it for my by Friday, but they will charge $50 for this, which seems like a lot for such a simple logo.
as far as the size goes, I think it would be good at around 2" since it is just a small logo that will be going on the bottom left corner of a few of my non-screen printed shirts. It could be slightly larger than that if necessary. It will be embroidered on 40's pima cotton jersey (fabric weight 120gr per sq. meter). I will be using multiple combinations of farbic/thread colors, but they will all be in stark contrast to one another.

Simple or not, digitizing requires specialzed software, and a specialized skill set to produce. $50 sounds like a minimum charge to me, and not at all out of line.
Yes, the $50 is the minimum charge, and I am sure it is not out of line at all, they are running a business and the services they offer come at a cost.
But, I thought there might be others on the forum looking to help out and I appreciate the help I have gotten here in this thread and in the past, and do all I can to contribute to the forum as well.
