I know that large commercial operations ahave a special machine for embroidering on golf bags, but I have heard that there are golf bags that have a removable side pocket that can be embroidered or screen printed, etc. Does anyone know a source for these?

Check with Sanmar. I believe they have golf bags that has a removable part so it can be embroidered.

Technically, any golf bag can be embroidered providing you have a large enough pocket, the right tools, room to work, and a little patience. I did a large leather staff bag like the caddy's carry on the pro tours that I embroidered for a friend. I had to remove the table on the machine, flip the bag upside down, and do a 180 degree flip of the design file to get it done.
