Default What software? Training and Support is a must

Ok trade show coming up soon so going to have a look at software then

I think it will be between Corel Drawings or DecoStudio

Got a loan of a laptop at the moment with Drawing on it but doesn't look all that great

by the looks of it online there is more training and support for Deco, views?

You going to the P&P in the UK John. I went through this dilema last year, and looked at them both, but only needed an upgrade for Drawings as I have an earlier version. Came away with DecoStudio (as it still included Corel Draw), I've just received the upgrade to DecoStudio1.5 (had some dongle trouble, but Wilcom support was/is fantastic). Not had time to play with it as yet (in all honesty didn't have time to get used to 1.0, and it's now nearly 12months on).

If you already have CorelDrawX4 then you will be paying for it again within DecoStudio1.5. For either of these programs to do a fair to decent job you really do need a very clean precise Vector, otherwise they just layer the colours which makes for a very high stitch count and thick design. I'd download their sample design and stitch this out first so you can see what I mean (it's colour upon colour upon colour) not very good digitizing. Though no doubt there is some control within the software to erase the under stitches where you don't need them.

The lettering though is top notch, and I've used this more often than the rest of the program.

Personally!!!
I have had better luck with Drawings for a number of reasons but mostly it is easier to edit the design.
But the new release of Deco looks much better but you NEED the powerpack which is an extra $1K. The knife tool is essential they really should be including it in the standard package but they got to make $ somehow. This not just my opinion, I was let to this conclusion also by someone that teaches the software.
This tool comes in Drawings so thus the reason why I am usually it regularly until I can save the extra grand for the upgrade on the Deco
The Deco is great though for the Wilcom lettering, as mentioned previously.

For digitizing software we use Pulse and Wilcom. We also have Melco but I would recommend going with Wilcom.
