Default Can you embroider a hat in a "normal" machine

I am getting ready to buy a Janome and the lady said that she could show me how to embroider a hat in this machine. It seemed odd to me, because it looks like a regular sewing machine (dont know what this type of machine is called). I have seen hats done in the commercial machines, but never a home machine.

For non structured caps, yes, it can be done. Even though there are at least 3rd party cap hoops available, it can also be done with a regular hoop.

3D and puff embroidery has nothing to do with the hoop.

Yes, you can do hats but it will make you crazy and you won't be happy with the results.
