Default Embird........ Looks like a good deal.....for what you get

Ok ,

here we go.

Embird is a couple hundred bucks, looks like you can do some pretty cool editing and digitizing, so whats the catch.

It seems like its not as flashy as say Forte, or Wilcom. But it also doesnt cost thousands of dollars.

I have read that it is widely used, and just wanted to hear opinions from my firends at Tshirtforums.

Thanks!

it takes some getting used to but so do all of the others. they do have a support forum on yahoo groups so if you can live with that you should be ok. if we didnt already have eXperience we would have gone with embird.

Well the ay I look at it, I am going to be using Illustrator to create my artwork, {As usual, I do 90% of my designs in illy}. I can then get it into Embird, and do the basic digitizing, i need to do.

If I was going to do a 90000 stich masterpiece, I think I would outsource to an experienced digitizer anyways. I am looking at doing tackle twill designs, for hoodies. Fonts, basic lettering etc.

Now if I can get my PC to talk to my machines.....

embird is a good basic program and from what I understand they have very good support- but do check you must buy each different module you want - it is not a $200 total program

Even with all the other modules, its still a pretty decent price.

I started out with Embird basic and soon bought the font engine. I can make logos for most groups just using Font Engine. I've only recently added Studio and begun learning digitizing. Lots of great free tutorials and some not-too expensive ones as well.
