Default Looking at starting to do wholesale embroidery

Hi:
I'm looking to do wholesale embroidery and would like to get some more ideas on how to price it. Right now for 10,000 stitches on the chest I charge $12 can anyone help with some price structuring. Or at least give me some ideas.

There are all kinds of price lists on the net. Here is an example: http://www.fawn.com/pdfs/fawnpricesheet2007.pdf

But their cost of doing business might be very different than your cost. Have you determined what your cost of doing business is for that 10,000 stitch item?

yes, you have to check your own cost first, and then check also how much the nearest competition is charging.

If you price by stitch count consider having a minimum hooping charge with an additional fee for hard to hoop items. When considering operating costs remember machine & software costs, utilities, phone, advertising, marketing, insurance, salary, etc.

Unless you have a lot of heads, selling wholesale or contract is going to be tough. I sold my machine and now contract out all of my work. As an example I pay $4 for 1-6 pieces up to 10k stitches and $3.50 for 7-12 pieces up to 10k.

I usually charge @1.00 per 1,000 on minimum pieces when I do more pieces the price should go ie: .50 per 1,000 stitiches and it depends on what you are sewing.
Jackets should be more, harder to hoop.
I am looking for companies as well that I could embroider for any contact information would be helpful.

If you really want to break into the wholesale, high volume arena, you will need at least 4 heads and probably 6 or more to get a good hourly rate and be able to compete.

For instance, suppose you have 250/pc order that takes 8 mins each to run. Are you really going to spend 80 hours running this job or do you want to spend 15-20 hours?
