Default Getting the autodigitizing software to do a good job

I have been spending some time with the auto digitizing software that comes with eXperience text.

I know there is no substitute for an experienced puncher person but for a lot of designs we can just take our vector graphics and run it through the converter and get a pretty good job.

There are a few things to do to prepare the graphics for embroidery.

Embroidery is 3D and your vector is 2D. Overlapping vectors tend to confuse the software so if you don't want your sewing to overlap, you should fix your graphics so they don't overlap.

Also, what I have been doing is separating my graphics so they don't overlap at all and then digitize the parts. I can then 'assemble the parts' from one or more digitized files.

A final trick I have been doing since eXperience text does not let me change stitch types is to shrink a graphic part if I want satin stitching and expand it if I want fill stitching. I can then resize these to what I want in the emb software and it will fill in the correct amount of stitches.

Finally, I can add stitches if I need to for any section of the design in the emb software.

Has anyone else gone this far or do you just send your vectors out for digitizing?

Sounds like you're doing a good job so far. It's almost the same as manual digitizing with all those image preparations, image editing and the extra steps. And, as long as the customer is happy with the outcome, then, you should too.

We just don't have the puncher software and I don't feel like coughing up $2K or more to get it.
