Default more of a sewing question... how to sew on hats

I was wondering how its possible or if you need a special type of sewing machine to sew onto fitted hats... there must be some similarity with this and embroidering on them... i can get the hat to fit under the needle in anyway because the bill is in the way... even if i scrunch the hat down to a super small size it can fit but ruins the look of the fitted cap...

Suggestions?

My Tajima has an adaptor to sew the hats. You might need to see if there is one for your machine.

always, the hats are sewed center out. Therefore, i think you need to take sewing begin at the center.

What kind of machine are you using it sound like a home sewng embroidery machine. If you are flating the cap down. I use to do that same thing with a home machine pfaff 7570.
