Default Used Embroidery Machines and Software

Last year we bought a late model two head Tajima, which is identical to the machine being offered today by Hirsch.

At any rate, I have been using Wilcom Deco Studio, but I also have Tajima Pulse Illustrator software with the dongle. Is there a transfer fee or anything I need to pay to Hirsch to start using the Pulse software? We found that the Deco Studio has some limitations. It is great for normal stuff, lettering, etc. We sometimes get some work in that needs to be tweaked more than it allows.

I don't know what version of Pulse you have but if you are the registered owner of the software, then no you do not have to pay to use the software.

On the other hand, if the software is not already registered to you, then yes you are expected to notify Hirsch and likely will be required to pay a transfer fee.

Have you already installed the software and are you able to use it ?

Thanks for the reply. I basically bought her business and rolled the equipment into mine, so, no, I am not the registered user of the software. It is version 11.0. Tajima Pulse Illustrator. Her company went away and we bought the machine, software, hoopmaster, thread, needles and bobbins.

How much do they charge for a transfer fee? I was being hounded by Tajima and SWF after attending seminars, demos, etc. I think we must have gotten leprosy or the plaque or some other contagious disease about the time we mentioned buying a used machine. Everyone quit calling and they refused to offer any support whatever.

I don't know what the transfer fee would cost. You will have to phone Hirsch to find out. And if you do, let us know .... I am curious.

Paying the transfer fee is getting you software support and the ability to upgrade the software or replace the dongle down the road, should it fail.

In truth because you have the dongle, the software will likely work just fine for you without paying Hirsch anything.

There is a Tajima / Pulse group at

TajimaPlus : Tajima Owners Group

which you may want to consider joining.
