Thank you all for your input so far; I am looking for honest, objective opinions regarding my site and shirts; I just launched a few days ago, and of course my family likes it, but I'd like to hear from real critics! If you have amoment, could you take a look and let me know what you think?
The graphic you have for your entry page is cool - but, I am not a fan of entry pages at all. I think it just creates unncessary work for your customers. Most shoppers have a really short attention span and the more clicking someone has to do to buy something, the more likely they are to leave. (There were actually several studies done to support this... wish I could remmeber the name of one of them but alas, I can't.)
When I get into your website - that piece of paper you have with stuff written on it... I can't read it. I mean I can - but it takes a lot of effort because the words just bleed together. Moreover, because it's an image, you're not going to get it listed in the searh engines so the content will not be working for you for SEO purposes.
I also can't read your buttons - the almost broken up white font does not work well on the red. Change the font. I'm als not sure why you have these extra cells below the Shop Cart button. Use the merge feature and just merge those last cells. Better yet, just change the table border to 0 and get rid of the table all together.
Finally, your website is too large. I get a scroll bar at the bottom so I have to scroll over to actually see all of your shirts. Look at walmart.com - their website resolution is 800x600. Yours is about double that. So, you'll need to make some things a bit smaller
I checked the WhoIs and I see that you're using GoDaddy. So, I know you've done A LOT of work. There's some issues - but all in all, great job!
I would lose the entry page as well, it's a killer for SEO. There are some minor spelling errors (i.e. "blod" instead of "blood"), those are must fixes. The roll overs on your left menu have a very narrow tolerance (I'm using Chrome). Overall, it's a good starting point. And if you keep the big graphic in the middle, make sure you use your keywords in the alt text tag.
Thanks for all the advice...I made a few changes here and there and got rid of the entrance page. Also added more text for SEO; so, hopefully, we'll see where we go from there. If anyone else has any input, that would be awesome. Thanks again!
The text links on the left are a bit hard to read.
The about us and where to find us page's text is not very professional looking. Big text just never seems to work for me. Go smaller on the text, NEVER center align an entire paragraph, just not good design principals.
If possible get rid of the paypal buttons and make your own.
I've never been a fan of sites with black backgrounds, but maybe that's just me.
I like the promo shots(or digital promo shots) of the shirts then when you click it's an actual modeled picture, cool.
Under the Shop page, again the text on the right is all one big paragraph, try to break it up, use bullets. No one likes to read long paragraphs You talk about what the shirts are made of cool, separate paragraph. You talk about why you make the shirts, cool, separate paragraphs.
I think you have two different price ranges going on, on the main list page all the shirts are $15, but on the individual product pages (with the person wearing them) they are $18.
Awesome help, folks. Again, I can't thank everyone enough. Made some more changes based on the suggestions and fixed the price point issue. I love your brutal honesty. If it's not obvious from the site, I'm self taught and still learning, so I apppreciate the input more than you know.
The font is very hard to read, especially when used in the menu on the left side. The white text with the black and red underneath it is hard to read, and still needs a bit of proofing. I saw some instances where Christian was not capitalized, and some text spacing oddness. While I see what you're trying to achieve, the first thing you need to achieve is readability. If I have to strain to read something, I most likely won't read it, which means I'll move on.
I like the graphics of the shirts, and how you can mouse over them to flip them and see the back. That's nice.
I did notice that you don't have any return policies, or privacy policies, or policies of any kind of your site, or at least none that I could find. You really should get those written and added. They can go a long way to reassuring buyers. You also should add a contact us page. You have contact information on your retailers page, but people who are not retailers may not look on that page. Make sure your contact information and your policies are clearly visible.
