Default Website Design

I am looking to create a website for my embroidery/rhinestone/ heat transfer business and I came across this website ( Justjen.com ) that is professional, visually appealing and seems to have all the features im looking for. My problem is I have no web design experience. I found this website that sells templates and it looks similiar to the website above but I wasn't sure if there was anyone out there that would suggest something else from experience? 3DCart Shopping Cart Design - Deluxe
Any input is appreciated, thank you

Default Re: Website Design

Hi!

I took a look at the website you provided and, I must say, you'll have a hard time getting that done yourself if you have no experience. But, you can hire someone to help you put a website that looks like that up. I looked at the desing package you linked to as well. It looks like they'll charge you $400 to get the website up. But, what are they charging you for updates?

So, I guess the question really is how much you want to spend and whether you can compromise a bit if that means you spend less money?

There are many do it yourself type systems out there where you can get a pretty good website and accomplish everything you need for much less. But, this may mean that you do not have all the programming you would have if you have someone create the website for you. So, for example, on that justjen website - when you click on the Create Your Own link, there's a lot of stuff that comes up and a lot of different steps. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make this happen. Is this something you need to have? Does it have to be in that exact layout?

If you're just starting out and want to go the route of doing it yourself - my advise would be to start small. First, add your one page, add your shopping cart and add one item. Take it one step at a time .

If you feel like you can't compromise, then hire a designer. Shop around and get a few quotes. But, make sure you know what you want up front becaues the designer can only create what you ask for up front.

Hope some of this helps Good luck!
