Default exporting graphics for website

ok so ive officially become a web designer. due to the fact i cant afford to hire someone. im not trying to make anything to fancy so im sure i can handle it

i purchased some design software that almost seems to easy to be true, but so far it seems like it is very easy. its almost like coreldraw with a little bit of photoshop. this is my first problem of which i hope are not to many.

im trying to import files that i created in corel. they seem to get somewhat jagged when i import into my website design software. my question is do i have to design a certain way in corel so it looks ok for the web. when i export my artwork i export it as a png file. not to sure what setting i should have when i export it, i think i tried just about all of them. pictures seem to be crystal clear, perfect. but my vectors and gradients just dont seem right. in some cases colors are also off. any advice on how to create, and export files would be great

Export as JPEG instead of PNG unless you need transparency. Which you usually don't.

And make sure that your web design software isn't resizing the image. You want to resize the image in your graphics program. Resizing an image with HTML code make it looks jaggy and ugly most of the time.

Well what color background are you putting it on in the website? make it have that color of a background in your graphics program then save it.

To get rid of the white box, save as a GIF file and click 'transparency'
