I know that whenever I type in that term on google, I get a lot of recommendations to use the "All in One SEO" package but I see that you need an FTP program to install this to Wordpress and frankly I have no idea how to go about that (plus, I'm under the impression that Wordpress does not accept apps like this from what i've read). Is there an easier route to go about this?
Anyone have any links to basic SEO that I can manually add to my blog to make it have a better chance of being seen?
I'm currently operating under the "Ambiru" theme and my site is STILL PROUD CLOTHING.

You don't need an FTP client, you need to input the FTP information from your host.

And you really don't need to do much SEO for a blog. Just use good titles and throw some keywords in your posts. No SEO plugin is gonna get you automatic exposure. You just need to right good stuff and have people link to your blog.

Make sure to use Alt text for your images.

Alt text is basically a text description of an image that you put inside an img tag

<img src="location of image" alt="description">

You can not install it, your blog ist hosted on wordpress.com, they do not let you upload anything to their website other than images. no ftp access at all.

as you already have your own domain, why don't you just install wordpress on your own website?
Thats really easy and in the longrun you just have much more controll about your site.
that will only cost you about 6 dollar per month.
there are even some nice shopping cart plugs for wordpress, but they only work if you host your own script.
