Lightbulb Effective Design Of "About Me" Pages

The "about me"-page is one of the most overlooked pages in development and is;

one of the highest ranked pages on many websites.

In a world that's becoming increasingly connected through the Web, it's important that you engage your audience in a personal and friendly way, otherwise you risk just being another faceless person among a sea of websites.

It's definitely got me thinking about this more cos i don't even have one, which is pretty stupid on my part and looking at some examples of others, makes me feel quite embarrassed about that fact (i'm sure i'm not the only one).

Others, however, have truly taken the time to treat their about page as if it were as important as the home page. In fact, some went as far as using their about pages as their home page.

It seems most people run out of steam by the time they get around to developing their about pages (me included). Most i've come across simply threw up a few hastily written words about themselves instead of treating the page as an important asset.

I'm now off to do some more research on this subject and design my masterpiece. Check out some of these effective examples;

"It's All About Me Baby"

Default Re: Effective Design Of "About Me" Pages

One good thought is adding some photos of your actual real shop/office. If you don't have one in my opinion it would be nice to even put up some photos of your equipment like a heat press or something or a photo of you working at your desk.

This way a you may make a client trust you easier.

It 'll be something like "Hey, I am real. I may not be at your neighborhood but I really exist, trust me"
