What would I need to start a custom t shirt site. Want software and shopping cart? How would customer upload the image?

How big are you planning to go with this out of interest? As big as Spreadshirt and Cafepress? Or something on a smaller scale and localised?

small for now. Not trying to be a cafe or spread. I just want to add value to my business. If I go the route of doing custom tees, I would like to have another way for customers to reach me. It's just a thought, as I do a lot of events and might not have time to do a lot of orders. So, as for now, I would just like to look into it.
