I've read details of using CafePress, Spreadshirt, etc. and some say the drawback to them is capturing customer data. How are you users capturing data with these features? Are you just embedding the store within your own website and using a database to capture data to send out newsletters, etc?
Re: Capturing customer data from online tshirt shops
Even embedding the store within your own site will not help because you are still using their shopping cart/checkout.
There may be other ways, but the only way I know is to have your own site, get orders directly, then you place the order with the fulfillment house and have them ship the product direct.

If I understand your question properly... you may want to take a look at constant contact... www.constantcontact.com . Hope that's helpful.

Re: Capturing customer data from online tshirt shops
This is very interesting as I am planning to open a Spreadshirt shop and I was counting on using my customers details for marketing, newsletters etc.
I'm sure it would be possible to capture customers data if you had a website with pages that eventually led to the spreadshirt checkout.
For example, the customer could choose the product from your landing page, fill in some details such as email and address then be shown the spreadshirt checkout.
Although this might lead to the customer entering details twice.
Has anyone managed to effectively solve this problem?
