Default What's the best way to set-up site?

I'm kind of lost on this end of the business, but I think I have some idea of what I need. I was going to start by getting a web-hosting account through yahoo but they all look the same. Could someone point me in the right diretion for a beginner? I think, I need a basic set-up for web hosting with a shopping cart. I'm gonnig to set up a Paypal account today! Hopefully, the site can come with a template that's already made, then I could add pictures and content. <I'm not sure if anyone has sites like this. I'm kind of on a budget and ready to get up and running.

If you're looking for ease of use and pre-made templates, anybody here will tell you that Big Cartel is your best bet. Granted most of the Big Cartel sites look the same, they have a pretty good look. They are customizable, but I'm not exactly sure to what extent because I've never used it before.

Personally, I chose to use CubeCart because it's free and the customization is limit-less. I've fully integrated it into my website, and I think it fits in perfectly. Check it out (website in my signature) if you're interested in seeing how it turned out.

Cubecart with a little effort you can make it good,, if you know very little and have 129 bucks www.ezgenerator.com has a shopping cart great for paypal, over 3000 templates that come with, blog built in, podcast, photoblog, and the list goes on, I build my sites with ez and use a outside cart for my shipping. Also I have done some stuff with cube cart it wasn't that hard to figure it out. Down load a trial of the ez,, but to run the php portion you will need a local server like wamp which you can get for free,

You should know that in order to work with an open source cart, you will have to AT MINIMUM understand php and MySql - php being the code thats used to contact the MySql database. Also, when you purchase a host, MAKE SURE that it has the latest version of php and mysql. yahoo is good, but i use hostmonster.

You also should read trhough a BUNCH of these posts on this forum that have a title like "HELP I'M NEW"

You should hire a graphic designer and use Bigcartel. Check out my site for bigcartel designs.
