Default domain name and the likes(org.tv.) worth buying
Hey guys,
i was wondering if it is worth buying the domains with similar names to protect the name or should i not worry and waste my money??. For example if i wanted the domain name tomato.com, is it worth buying
tomato.org
.tv
.net
or is this all a big gimmick to get more monies out of the client from the domain site???. thanks for your input.

If you're buying example.com, I would also suggest getting example.NET and example.ORG - that's about as far as I would go.

I wouldn't worry about the .tv, .cc, .ws and other extensions.

I agree with Rodney. I'd only resort to some of the other extensions if the .com, .org, .net ...... extensions were unavailable.
