Default Easiest & Most Efficient Way to Have Wholesale Area of CubeCart?

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to have retailers get our wholesale information and be able to order inventory.

What we've been doing is just sending them all of the pertinent information in an email, and attaching the line sheets and order forms.

They could then print out the order forms and fax them back to us, or send them via email.

We're in the process of contacting MANY retailers, and want to be able to impart our process and information quickly, easily, and efficiently.

I've got several ideas about how to accomplish this, but wanted to solicit some ideas because I'm sure there are things I haven't thought about, and probably a better way to do it.

Ultimately, I want to be able to have all of the information online. Then after initial contact, I can send them the link to the information and they have everything laid out for them.

The first thing that comes to mind with doing this, is securing the information. I don't want it just roaming out there in cyberspace, obviously.

We're going to be going live with our ecommerce site in just a few weeks. We're using cubecart. Ideally, I would like to have a separate part of the site for retailers that lets them see all of our wholesale terms and everything associated with a wholesale account.

Also, I would like them to be able to order from the wholesale section of the site.

I know that it's possible to have a wholesale section. But my concern comes because I want to make it as easy as possible for retailers to get all of the wholesale information without having to first register on the wholesale part of the site.

So, how can I accomplish having a wholesale part of the site with completely different content than the retail part, AND make it easy for retailers to view it as most probably would think it a hassle to have to register in order to get the information?

Any help at all is greatly appreciated!
Sorry it was so long.

Dear Comin'OutSwingin,

Hello, Nice to meet you through this forum.

Please find my thoughts.

As cubcart is the software been used.

1] Please create two links like Wholesale | Retail as like language transtion or currency swapping.
2] Segregate the entire admin in wholesale and Retail in reference to ading a new type in content, categories and prices.
3] Enforce preset rules like buying a product in wholesale section quantity should be above [ XXXX ].
4] Amount of Purchanse in Wholesale should be atleast [ XXXX ].
5] This way the online website can be used as wholesale and retail.

Hope this helps.

Thank you
Teeskoo

To make it work, you'd *have* to have the retailers register and login.

I don't think this would be something that would be a hassle to them. When dealing with wholesale accounts, they are probably accustomed to registering and logging in to get the privileged information.

Which version of Cubecart are you using? If you are using CC4, you could do it with Estelle's mod here:

I'm using version 3 (remember I'm cheap!), but I've found a mod for it for version 3.

Estelle has some good mods, though.

What about the content, though?

Can I have completely different content for the different category groups by using a mod like this or something similar?

I don't want just different pricing, I would like to be able to have completely different content than the retail side.

Would I be looking at getting 2 separate stores, or do you if there is a way to also have different content for the different groups?

For instance, when a retailer logs in, I would like for them to see the site exactly the way regular customers see it but be able to get the wholesale pricing, and also get all of the wholesale information.

But I obviously don't want that information available to the regular retail customers of the site.

If I understand what you're saying by "content", you would just like some pages to only be viewable by the "wholesale" group.

If so, I don't think this is possible with CC3 without some custom modification. You may want to contact Estelle and see if she can whip you up something custom.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying.

I'll do that.

Does version 4 have this ability out of the box? If so, I may just upgrade if it's not too much of a pain.

I haven't upgraded a version 3 store to a version 4 store, but I've installed fresh copies of each.

One thing I noticed with version 4 is that although it costs money, it has a lot of the most popular mods built in.

I just checked my install of cubecart4 and it doesn't seem to have customer groups as an option.

So it looks like estelle just took the time to program the mod for version 4 instead of doing both versions. I think that if you had her mod, it would only take a bit more customization to get it so you could show pages (called Site Documents in CC) based on a users login permissions.

That way guests not logged in would see one thing, customers who are logged in could see another thing, and wholesalers who are logged in could see yet another set of menus.

That's exactly what I want.

It's important enough that I'm probably going to upgrade to version 4 and get Estelle's mod, then see if she can do what you just described.

Thanks!
