Default The chicken or the egg

So Ive decided to use cubecart along with a nice cubecart skin, but im still in the process of finishing up my tshirt designs (ie 'products'). But I dunno, some silly part of me is very keen to think up the name for my dot com, and register cubecart, throw it up there and play around with improving it here and there before I finish all my tshirt designs (or until I feel I have enough designs up there to begin with selling).

But I guess on the otherhand, its silly to pay money for hosting if the shop isnt ready yet... but dammit... im so keen to get the site up.

What do you all think?

Same thing I'm facing!

I've been selling so many shirts, that I'm not sure I have enough for inventory to go live on my site yet.

I also don't have all of the products done that I will be selling online.

What I'm thinking of doing is a "soft roll-out" online. Start with 1 design, and every couple of weeks add a new design/product.

You could do the same. If you have 1 or 2 designs, go ahead and get your site the way you want it, and throw them up for sale. All the while making it clear that you will be constantly adding new designs.

i say go live with it. Every site i work on is always changing anyways.

But that is one common thing you come across with a lot of artists/designers, their stuff is never finished..... that's why producers exist. they simply say, that's it, its finished get it out and move on to your next design etc.

You can always change it later.

Thats just me tho.

Hosting isn't expensive - if you have a name you like you should make it official before someone else does.

As others have said you can do a soft rollout, but even if you don't it's not a big expense. Plus this way you can test your site out live on the server, get used to the way your host works, etc.
