Default How To Get Mailing List
im searching around for a good host. some have great prices and great packages. but all don't have the exact specs that i want/need. basically, one thing i want is a "join our mailing list/newsletter". is this option something i can download or it needs to be part of the host. some packages do have the mailing list option but im not sure if its what im looking for. please help, or any suggestions to a great host. thank you....

Most all mailing list services have that option as standard.

They give you the code you need to add to your website so visitors can subscribe to your newsletter. All the services do this that I know of.

Check out PHPlist. It is free and you have total control of your list. If your host limits your ability to send a certain number of emails you can get SMTP service from a company called AuthSMTP for a pretty good price and use that to send your PHPlist mailings.

As Rodney said, all of the mailing services and scripts have a code block you can cut and paste.

But many of the carts also have a newsletter signup, as well. Some it may be an option you need to turn on, others it might be a "mod" you have to add.

Regardless, you can add it to virtually any cart or regular site. Just a matter of what format fits your needs the best.
