Ramesh...in you cpanel, open your file manager select home directory and look at the right of the screen.

You should see a file that says /home/ramesh (example) click on the + sign
Once you open that go down to the public html folder and click on the + sign

This opens the file to your cart. you can also go to the www file at the very bottom.

Who are you using for hosting?

Ramesh, sorry to hear that. I went back to my cpanel to see exactly what I did and the steps I gave you are exactly the what is on my screen with the exception that instead of the right side it was actually on the left.

I don't use hostgator, so theirs may be set up a bit differently, although with other hosting I've had pretty much the same cpanel.

You are beyond the cpanel. You need to work directly on the files on your server through the ftp process. You will have to download the files you want to edit, edit them and then copy them over the originals. (Never hurts to make backups.) In fact, it's a good idea to have a copy ot the entire cart on your PC.

Here is what you need for ftp - first is a short how-to book -
http://www.smallbusinesshoster.com/FTPforFREE.pdf

Here is a free ftp program (the nerds call it a "client", but to the real world it's just another program on your PC) -
SourceForge.net: FileZilla

And here is a link to my support videos on ftp -
Hosting Documentation

BTW, hostgator should tell you about this, all of my hosting clients get an email with these links as soon as their account is set up, Difference between megagator and one man shop, eh?

Now, don't you really wish you'd have hosted with someone who gives you personal attention?
.
