Default Onine Design

Hi,

I am not in the T-shirt biz, well not directly. I did however come across this forum while researching websites that allow custom design online.

Out of the dozen or so sites I came across this one has the best interface as far as I am concerned - perhaps not the glitziest but certainly the easiest and fastest and best featured.

theshirtprinter.com - because it's fast, and it's fast, and it's much easier to rotate, resize, upload and change sides - in fact it was the only one I found that allowed the product (t-shirt) to be rotated four ways to design on the sleeves as well.

next to that is the Design A Shirt interface. I can see why they are adamant to not let themselves be ripped off - a lot of thought has gone into making that application user friendly.

So for those of you considering trying to incorporate online custom design in your sites - as I am - these two are very good models. Honorable mention goes to Custom Ink who I think does a good job of outlining the printable area on their products.

I also found that there are designers that you can find that can do these applications for far less than the $10,000 or 'deep pockets' that the Design A Shirt guy talked about. Although I can sympathize with him. I spent a little over 40 thousand and a year of hands on development to create a customer ordering site for another of my businesses.

Check Elance and you will find quite a few with experience in just this type of programming. - And stay away from the dude in India who copied Design a Shirt's application - he's creepy :-) - as well being a stone cold thief imo.

Lastly, you're a pretty cool bunch - I enjoyed browsing your forum. Maybe some of us can hook up some time to do some billiard themed shirts - my business.
