Question Selling in USA and UK

Hi there. I plan on selling T-shirts in the UK and the USA. I am based in the USA and my sister is in the UK. My plan was to produce shirts for sale in the USA over here and those for sale in the UK over in the UK. There may be some issues with style preference, cut of t-shirts, etc that mean it will make sense to do it this way.
This raises some problems. Shipping to the USA will be more expensive in some cases and vice versa. Further, prices should be in pounds and dollars.
It seems that one of the better ways to deal with this would be to have two stores- one for each region.
Any opinions? I would appreciate any advice on any aspect of this complicated question.

It doesn't sound too complicated. Most online stores sell products to both US customers and international customers (like the UK).

You can just use a shopping cart like cubecart/zencart/oscommerce and have it manage the currencies.

The shipping would be determined by you. If you are in the US and shipping to the US, you just set one price for those customers and another price for international customers. You can have the shopping cart calculate the pricing for you as well.

If you want to keep shipping costs down for international customers, you could have your sister ship items to your UK shoppers.

Thanks Rodney. Sounds like I was making things more complicated than they actually are.
