Default Can you have the best of both worlds?

So I operate a site that runs OS Commerce and has eCommerce capabilities (through Paypal). I wanted this functional feature for people to actually be able to buy shirts online.

The problem is, the design could use some work. Because I am using an existing template, the format is very cookie cutter. I would rather a flashy looking site but find it is difficult to include the eCommerce capabilities to it (as I am pretty inexperienced as a web guy).

Is it possible to have a flashy site with eCommerce capabilities on a limited budget/technical know-how?

Thanks!

Neil

I don't know what you mean by "flashy" (I wouldn't necessarily call a flashy ecommerce site a good one).

But you can have custom layout for your ecommerce store by just hiring someone to create a custom design for your oscommerce install. You can find people to do this on rentacoder.com or other freelance sites.

I've seen people do some very nice things with OsCommerce, but I've no idea what they paid. That said, depending on your budget, you may be able to get someone to whip you up a custom template for a reasonable amount.

Check these guys out for some snazzy templates too:
