I am running into a problem with my new ricoh. The prints I make have a lot of black in them. I have found that black takes a while to dry. I just pressed a shirt and noticed a line of track marks. It looks like the "track wheels" are picking up the wet ink and leaving a trail of it. There are 2 attachments. One shows the track marks on the paper and the other is inside the printer showing the culprits.
Anyone have any clue on how to fix this? How do I remove these track wheels? I have tried to change the lever to envelope mode, but see no difference.
Re: Problem with Ricoh GX7000 - Leaving track marks
Are you using a high release paper? If you are then try something like Conde's SPP paper. Ink will not dry as fast on high release paper. I use the SPP and have no problems on my 7000.

I am using the Sub Trans 95% High Release paper. I tried a test with a different paper(didn't have a label on it) and it worked. The only problem is when I press it the blacks come out brown and just doesn't have the quality that the 95% high release does.
I was looking at Conde's side, but didn't see the SPP paper. Do you have a direct link?

you might try a starting point of 390 for 50 sec. Then try different times and temps and keep notes. Only change one variable at a time from the start point. Print up a few small versions of the design then cut up an 'oops' shirt into swatches and test on the swatches. When you print up the smaller designs place your time and temp it will be tested at underneath it. Doing this you wont waste a bunch of shirts.
