Default Slow drying ink.

I've been using laser and giving the sublijet dye-sub inks a try. The problem I'm having is the ink takes FOREVER to dry. Hours or more. I know that I have to wait for the ink to dry before pressing it onto the shirt, but it seems to take much longer than it should. I also get some wicking of the ink, especially the black. This makes the image look blury.

The room is warm, 75+ degrees and the humidity is under 40%. I'm printing on a Epson 1280 with ATI release paper.

Is this dry time normal or am I missing something? I've tried using the 100% polyester setting and the Softl'ink setting. I've been all through the Powerdriver IQ settings and can't figure it out. When I use the ceramic setting to do mugs I don't have the problem at all. I can press a mug in minutes. With the shirt though, it takes hours waiting for the ink to dry enough that it can be touched at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

ATI release paper is for "laser" sublimation...not inkjet. With most inkjet papers you should be able to directly to the press. For inkjet dye sublimation transfer papers try Accuplot, TexprintXP, 1401, etc.

That's kinda what I thought but I thought I'd check anyhow. I'm still trying to figure out the inkjet thing. I've got a order of textjet being overnighted from Conde. It should be here tomorrow and I'll see how it goes.
