Hey all,

What reasonable priced printed are you all using for sublimation and what CISS / Ink are you using?

Sorry I didnt explain properly..
Yes the colour when printed if very dull, and the colours dont match whats on the screen, I have tried sub paper, photo paper and high quality paper and the colours still appear really faded. I havnt tried transferring the image over as of yet due to the fact it prints very dull.
Dye sub ink is encapsulated. So the real colors don't show till after your press them. Here is a link to some more information about dye sub that you might want to read - General Information about Sawgrass Dye Sublimation Printing - MultiRIP Hybrid Software. Go buy some cheap polyester fabric from the fabric store and do some tests. You still might have a problem with your color management and setup up your graphic software program with the correct ICC profiles, but you will never see the same colors that come out of your printer to match your monitor unless you press it.

Hi Mark,
Thank you very much for the informaton, Ill give this try tommorrow and let you know how it goes.
Ill have a read through that link, and get some more general information on this all I think.
Out of curiosity what printers are you using? At the moment im debating on weather or not to get a better printer
Definitely try pressing what you printed. The first time I ever pressed anything I wasn't expecting much because the printout on the paper looked terrible (dull, wrong colors), but WOW! The colors just popped on my item!
I also discovered that if you print the image on the incorrect side of the dye sub paper then you will get a rather dull, faded image on the item you press it onto (although it will still look brighter than the image on the paper itself).
I had an Epson C80 but got rid of it due to clogging issues (my fault because I didn't use it as often as was recommended). I'm considering purchasing a printer again, but haven't decided which one yet.
