Hi,
We've tried heat pressing performance apparel shirts and whether they are a color shirt or a white shirt something in the process is affecting the material that contacts the paper. We have tried QC Pro and Textprint sublimation paper. We put the foam inside the shirt under where the design will go, place the paper down with the edges hanging off over the edge of the foam, temp 390, time 45 sec, light pressure. So basically the whole square or rectangle of the paper is leaving a sheen around the graphic.
We were sure if maybe we need to treat it with something and then wash it?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Re: sublimation paper residue on performance shirts
Thanks also for this pressure tip. I did'nt know that light pressure is needed. We've been getting a "yellowing" on our results also. Our 16x20 press is set at high pressure since we use this for our laser transfers on cotton tees. Did'nt know light pressure is needed on sublimation.
Re: sublimation paper residue on performance shirts
If you are having any yellowing I would say you have some residue left on the platen from the laser papers. With textprint I have never had any yellowing. I do have blue fibers poping color on the none inked areas but that is in the vapor basic tees. Make sure you have some kind of clean paper on top of your textprint to take any blowoff I use standard laser paper I buy cheap in bulk 13x19, another 2cents is well worth not loosing five and six dollar blanks. good luck

For the little blue fibers use a lint roller over the area that will be heated up and that should take care of it. the yellowing can be from to much presser. use just enough so the thirt can't be pulled out of the press. I have a swing away and only let the head come down and do not clamp it down the wieght ot the press head is just enough to do the job with no lines.
Re: sublimation paper residue on performance shirts
I am not sure if anyone has ever resolved the sheen issue completely. I rember more then one post regarding this espically on the Vapor rusty colored shirt. The sheen issue has nothing to do with the paper.
