Default Epson 1280 w?airtrainium ink issues.

It's been a little while since my last visit here.

I recently purchased a used Epson 1280 with Artrainium bulk ink setup and ink. Of coarse the people I purchased from said it wasn't clogged and there was at least a half bottle of all the inks but black and that was about 1/4 full. I purchase the setup with some other stuff so it won't be a total loss if I cant get it working but I would like to.

My problem is (of coarse) the print head seems to be clogged. I have run head cleanings and it seems to get most of it out but not all. When this didn't work, I put the stock carts in and tried to flush clean. Seemed ok so I put the bulk system back in.

Plugged heads. Now I can leave it sit for a bit and run a nozzle check and all but the black are fine for one or two checks than its back to plugged.

They told me the ink was still good but.......

The printer seems to work fine with the stock in carts in it.

Any suggestions for a fix or should I just scrap this setup and get a bulk system for my 1400??

Thanks for any input. I don't have any more hair to pull out so that's not an option.

Terry

What is it that indicates the clog, no ink at all or just some banding on the print. Use some head cleaner. Take out the cartridges and inject some cleaner into the inlets. Let it sit over night. Put the cartridges back in and run some test prints to get all the leftover solution out of the system. If the black is just banding, just try turning up your saturation to +1 or + 2 and see if it helps.
