Default epson 4800 refillable ink cartrides

I was advised to purchase refilable ink cartidges for my 4800. Twice already I have had to replace the chips because they wouldn't reset with the chip resetter. Now I had the photo black read 2% when it had at least 1/3 of the 220 ml tank filled. When pulling the cartridge out to try and reset it a tiny little V shape spring popped out. Now my printer reads all the cartridges as being empty and the photo black as not even being recognized by the printer. I have a job due in 2 days and I'm stumped. Please HELP!

Not sure what the spring issue is but you have to realize it is critical not to run a cartridge out of ink or you will be forced to power flush and waste a bunch of ink. That is why refillables will always show that they have run out yet be 1/2 to 1/3 full.
