Here is what I know about this system:
1. The printer has a maximum print area of about 8.25" inches, so doing prints on Large Shirts or bigger does not look good. However, it will work good for mugs, license plates, most mouse pads and other items.
2. Either you have to get the color profiles from the distributor that you purchased the item from or you have to purchase them from Sawgrass.
3. Anytime you deal with a bulk feed system, you have to basically print sometime every day or two or you can run into have the extended bulk systems lines clog up. If this happens, you will waste ink in trying to get the line(s) flowing properly.
4. Almost everyone you sell to will not know the difference between a 4-color system or a system with 6 or 8 colors. Deep red colors don't always come out as good as I would like them.
5. The Artanium inks don't come with the warranty that the SubliJet inks do.
6. The Artanium inks usually are cheaper than the SubliJet inks.
7. The C-88 Printer is not a real production printer, so if you plan on using it everyday you might want to plan on purchasing another printer in 6-12 months down the road.

Hope this helps.

My C86 is giving the message "Service Required". I've had it over three years and it has never been a problem. Rather than try to fix it I just bought another C88+ for $89.00CDN which is better printer. I never have clogging.

I've given up on my 1280. Never have liked the colours compared to the C86 or C88. Not to mention all the clogging problems it gave me.

Do you use the bulk ink or the cartridges?
All of the companies I spoke with said use the bulk ink system, MUCH less expensive to print. Is this true???

Thanks
