Default Problem with Epson 4880 and ArTanium inkt

Hello,

We have bought an Epson 4880 with 8 ArTanium inkt cartridges in it. So far so good!

But ...

Neither the software or the printer indicate the inkt level or give a hint to which cartridge needs to be replaced when it gives the message "ink low" .
Does anyone know about this problem or even better ... has a solution?

Thanks in advance for any help or information.

there isnt a solution that I have found...They dont register on the printer because they are non-genuine...I havent found a fix for that yet.

We use the refillable ones from Conde for our 4000s. They are clear and you can see the ink levels.

Contact Specialty Graphics Supply they sell these units and can probably advise you. I suggest calling them they open at 8am PST.

What you are experiencing is a result of the chip security that Epson has on their printers. As mentioned above, it is because the cartridges you are using are non-genuine. There is no way around this for the Epson 4880, 7880, 9880 printers. You can see ink levels with the 4800, 7800, 9800... printers.

Easy fix, have a extra set of carts on hand and when it finally stops printing open the left door, raise the handle then lower it again and the empty one will blink, if it does not blink open the right door and raise and lower the lever and the emty will blink. No cure for this at the moment other than having extra carts on hand.

Hi Brian,

Things have been good. Found some relax time over the holidays to go to three college football bowl games (including the BCS Championship game last night). Glad to hear things are going great for you. Best wishes to your family and business.

Mark
