something like the organic cotton, or the 30/30, like affliction uses.

Generally, sublimation requires a polyester garment. Duracotton makes a transfer paper that can be applied to cotton. It's a 2 step process, I believe the first step is actually applying a poly base to the cotton garment. AutoART DuraCotton Digital Heat Transfer Papers

A bit of correction to Joe's post..Duracotton IS NOT a two step process..just one step, print then press. And it is for color laser printers only and just white/light. The other color laser paper is Image Clip and it is a two step process and like Duracotton only for white/lights...but I have heard they are coming out with an inkjet version

as for sublimation it is only for 100% polyester. Since the process bonds the ink only to polyester fibers, the color on the cotton does not bond and will wash badly...unless you want the faded grunge look.

with this paper does the image become part of the shirt as regular sublimation, or will it stay on top surface. what about that white square background that you see with regular transfer paper.

thanks for replying guys.

Joe I stand corrected...as a duracotton distributor I know the the duracotton sub and it is two step...you press a blank duracotton sub paper on the garment, the press your sublimated print over the area of the first press. It is not as good as sublimation as it does not bond with the fiber, only with the polymer coat that is laid down on the first press.

Cromablast is iffy at best in myopinion .. the ink is just as expensive as sublimation inks and the paper is 75 cents per page...at last price I had

i was at a show and saw the chromablast. The cost pushed me away from thinking about it...It is not good enough to command higher prices for the finished garment...I think Chromoblast has a lot of homework to do. If i want to go that route i would look into the advancement of DTG printing. I am also looking into the Dura cotton transfers...They are on the cutting edge. good luck allen aka gadget

There could be some news soon about a new paper from Duracotton....soon....I hope.. Allen I would agree that Chromablast is not worth it. I passed on it a year ago. For volume, I would outsource to a DTG operator. Luckily I have one just 10 miles away.

considering the distress factor and fades in many affliction shirts you could try a 50/50 cotton poly depending on what you are going for with your image. This image might be a little much but it is 50/50 and the print is vibrant
