Default mug press

I Bought a Mug King press from coastal, having problems figuring out how to operate it, I called them, and I'm still confused! anyone out there have one?
They told me to put a , "dummy mug" in, open handle, set temp, time close handle wait for temp to rise. Does this sound right?
I'm missing something somewhere!
Thanks

Default Re: mug press

Don't have the same press myself but what they are basically telling you to use one of your mugs to keep in the press when warming up the elements, which you also do to let it cool. You will need to keep a mug in there at all times with the exception of changing over. With your blank (dummy) mug in the press, just turn it on so that it gets up to temp. When it is at the required setting, take out the blank and put in mug to be printed. Once you have printed all your mugs replace the blank into the press and turn off. This way you will keep the heat element in good working order.
