Has anyone had any problems registering thier Printer Jockey? I purchased the program for $100.00 tried registering it with system ID and the Serial # emailed to me but when I try to retrieve my unlock code it tells me I have to register first. I have registered this thing for about 3 hours and all I get is either invalid serial # or I have not registered it yet. What's up? I'm leaving on vacation tommorrow with a clogged head on my 4880 and no way to auto print once a day while I am gone!
We apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing. We have emailed you a couple of times requesting you to send us your Product Code so we can research this problem. Can you please either email or PM us your Product Code (i.e. do not post it in this forum for security purposes)? We will work with you on getting past this and using the software.
We searched the online Registration table and finally found your record. It seems that the Product Code that you registered was not correct (mistyped #) and it was in all lower cases. Thus, the code was not showing up correctly when you try to validate the software. Please make sure that you use all capitals when validating the software. If you have any questions about your Product Code (which I am going to send via PM to you) or how to use the software, please let us know. We also have online videos that can be found at this link - YouTube - Broadcast Yourself..
Thanks to Mark and Printer Jockey I can go on vacation without worrying about my printer acting up on my return. It's been 6 years since I have been able to do that!!
Remember kids if you get this product, type in your serial # correctly the first time because you don't get a second chance until you get Printer Jockey involved. Definately worth the wait!
Mark, you have been so helpful over the last few months. I have been reading a lot of posts with your input,. I read one post where everyone had thier input on how to eliminate ghosting. Which is something I was dealing with regularly. Your reply was to use teflon pillows because it eliminated the vaacume. Valueing your opinion I forked out the bucks and baught all the pillows conde offered and after trying every trick in the book, your solution works perfect. I don't know why companies selling these do not mention this bonus. Thanks for being there.
Allthough Printer Jockey works flawlessly my print channel in the Blue/Light blk is still completely clogged. even running the channel flush at 1440X1440 with the maximum ink option. I get a blank page every time. I have only run a handful of very small prints with this new printer. What's wrong with this thing? Allthough I am thankful for Printer Jockey It looks like I have another problem. The Get ink levels option does not seem to work with the 4880 for some reason but unless I got an empty cart that cannot be the problem
Please help,
This is the most expensive printer I have ever had for sublimation and I was hoping for less headaches. I have a order of shirts due soon with blue in it so I was hoping to get this channel running.
Sorry, I did not see this post since I have been traveling the last two weeks. Printer Jockey's Timed Prints feature will only work if the channels are not blocked. So, we need to determine why your channels keep getting clog. Here are some questions that I would from any company that is experiencing a similar problem:
1. Where are you located (geography)?
2. What is the temperature in the room where the printer is?
3. What is the % of humidity in the room where the printer is?
It is possible that you got a printer with a bad print head. However, I tend to have the be the very last option. I would check your environment of the printer first by buying a digital temperature / humidity gauge. Just like a dtg printer (because they use the same piezo print head), these printers perform best when the humidity in the room is around 50%. If it is low, try to get a small humidifer. Also, make sure that the printer is not directly under a vent from an air conditioner or heater.
The other thing that it "mght" be is a problem with ink flow with those cartridges. This is a slim chance, but it does occur when using a refillable bulk cartridge compared to closed cartridges. I imagine you are running closed cartridges, so this is probably not the answer.
I would suggest that to attempt to clear the clog, you look into getting some of the clog buster solution that you would put in the capping station to help try to break the clog. There are several dtg owners that have used this stuff to unclog their capping station. If that does not work, you definitely need to get the distributor that you purchased the equipment from to help you. Worse case scenario, you might have to take the printer to an Epson repair facility.
I did end up getting the clog fixed by using the "Auto" option under nozzle check. once it finished my heads were all perfect. No matter how many times I ran the flush, it did not help. I guess the flush works before the clog. Now that the printer is running the Printer Jockey seems to keep the channels clear. One question, The daily printouts that are using all heads seem to just be black. Is that because it is all the colors on top of each other?
I don't mean to bag on this Printer Jockey, but I just got another nozzle check showing 2 channels clogged and the Jockey channel flush does absolutely nothing to help the problem. I tried 4 times. I still have to go through and do a regular head cleaning to fix the problem. what is up with the channel flush? it seems like a great idea, that's why I spent the$100.00 but I am not getting my moneys worth

Yes, it prints all the colors at the same time...thus the color comes out black. If you choose to print just certain channels with your Timed Print (i.e. only the white channels that most dtg printers do), then you would only see those colors.

Cory,
If you just got a perfect nozzle check on an Epson 48X0 printer and in less than 2-3 days your nozzles are clogged, you either have a problem with your printer, the inks or your environment. I asked the questions above to help find the root of the problem and suggested you get a digital gauge. Have you done this step? Just trying to rule out the environment as the problem.
I also previously mentioned that you could have an ink flow problem and that is starting to gain more validity. Printer Jockey is only going to have you print from a single channel on to a piece of paper. If you don't have good ink flow, you are not going to print anything (i.e. see all the posts on dtg printers). If it is only one or two channels and not any of the others, then you might want to try and reset the ink cartridges or even call your distributor to see if you can switch the cartridge(s) out for new ones. If you have to constantly use the Head Clean / Power Clean on just those two channels, then you need the pump in the capping station to keep the ink at the head... you are also going to find out your colors on those channels will vary when doing long runs as you will get ink stravation (i.e. see dtg posts ont hsi as well). As I mentioned the previous post, this is not something that typically happens in a closed cartridge dye sub system...but it does start to make sense. The only other thing would be if those colors are known to clog faster than others. Your distributor or Sawgrass should be able to answer this question.
There is a difference between the Channel Flush and running a Power Clean / Head Cleaning. The only way to make the print head go over the capping station and use the pump in the capping station to suck the ink out of the head is to tap into the Epson firmware (which is illegal and we will not do). Printer Jockey is good for clearing minor to average clogs. If you have basically nothing showing on your nozzle check, the Channel Flush may or may not work. On Wednesday, I channel flushed the Yellow Sublimation ink on an Epson 4880 that had less than 50% of the nozzle check showing. The next nozzle check looked perfect and we did it without wasting ink from any of the other channels and allowing air to build up in the print head that could affect the other channels. So I absolutely know the software works and thus is the reason why I am willing to put my reputation (which I value strongly) next to it.
I hope you check out your environment and get in contact with your distributor. This is not a problem that is typically found with the 48X0 printers or it would be all over this forum. I travel all the time and don't have a problem leaving my 4800 printer for over 5 days and still have good nozzle checks.
I just returned from office and ran a nozzle check on my Epson 4800 (SubliJet IQ and MultINK) hybrid. The last time I ran the printer was Sunday August 3rd since I have been traveling. The printer did about 20 seconds of moving back and forth and then printed a perfect nozzle check. Now please note, we are not using the same inks or the exact printer models. So it is not really comparing apples to apples. But the concept is basically the same. In fact, with the Epson 4880 printer having teflon coated ink lines...you should technically have less clogs. So something is not right with the way your printer is functioning with your inks in your office. You probably need to bring in your distributor to get the problem resolve.
By the way, when I referred to "reset your cartridges" in the above post... I meant pull the cartridges out of the ink bay and then put them back into the printer. This is called reseat the cartridges, but I forgot to put the "a" in there. Please do NOT to use a chip resetter on your cartridges. The Epson 4880 chips will show up empty because they are non-genuine chips and Epson's new chip encryption software will not allow non-OEM chips to show ink levels.
