i've been trying to figure out what the process is called, but an example is how shirts are printed for affliction... if you look at them the design looks like it is part of the fabric rather than printed on...

what is this process called? is it worth looking into and what are the price differences when comparing to screen printing?

Hi. The easy way to tell if something is printed by dye sublimation, is the garment material. Sublimation only works with garments that have a high proportion of polyester in them. It won't print on plain cotton.

I would say that Affliction probably screen print their designs.
