Hello, Ive been doing alot of research on printers for dye sub, my problem is this.

1. How Many Colors are optimal for hard surface photo transfer prints.
I will be printing at 1440 on an epson machine. I am split between needing a c88+, 1400, or r1800. I am looking at the larger format becouse I will be printing vanity plates and signs along with, tees, and other decor items.

2. Does the 1400 or r1800 have the ability to print rolled material with a rip software and if so which software is good entry level. I do all of my work in Corel 12.

3. Should I move up to corel x4 for any reason other than it is the latest and greatest.

There is a very discernable difference between color replication on the 88 and 1400. The 1400 is much better. There is very little difference between the 1400 and 1800.

The 1400 is a better workhorse than the 1800.

I can't comment on the software questions.
