i have an Epson 4880 and am using the hybrid setup, half sublijet, half chromablast.
i turned it on tonight and I haven't use it for a whole week, so it ask me if i want to do nozzle check, which I did.
It also asked if I wanted to do power cleaning, which without thinking twice, I selected YES.
I cancel the process half way thru it, and now i am stuck at a message on the LCD saying to change the cartridges. The cartridges that is on the printer still have about 1/4 of inks in it.
Is there a way to reset the printed so it wont keep asking me to change the cartridges (even though I make sure there is inks in it ?)
I have a 12 pieces order I need to send out Thursday. Please help !!.
As far as I know, once you tell it to start a power clean, it has to complete it. It will not complete it if a cartridge is under 1/4 full because it does not want to run out. You will need to get a replacement cartridge for any low inks, and then the printer will finish its Power Clean.
Never trust what the 4880 printer tells you. Always say no to a Power Clean. Do a regular nozzle check, and see for yourself if you need to do a REGULAR head cleaning. When that printer has been off for a period of time, when you turn it on, it will come up with that message, and you probably don't even have clogged nozzles. You only have to do a Power Clean as an absolute last resort to get a stubborn nozzle unclogged.
Just wondering if you are getting the cartridge needs repalcement indication then you may need to also replace the maintenance tank as well. As Kevin already said never do a power clean unless absolutely necessary. Good luck.
