Default Heat press Transfer / Sublimation

Hey guys, im pretty new to the forum and im interested in printing stickers and t-shirts.

Ive bought a cutter and some decal vinyl but im a bit confused about this whole sublimation process.

Im looking for a heat transfer press but i see alot advertised as heat transfer / sublimation.

Are these dual purpose, im guessing i will just need the heat transfer press but dont want to buy the wrong type of press.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

There is no special press for this. Any press that will go to 400F+ and has adjustable pressure (either manual or automatic) will do.

I use the same press (Hix 400) for both vinyl and sublimation as well as other type transfers.

Hi, If you want to sublimate you will have to use sublimation inks and a printer that you can use sub inks, if you get into sublimation and go with a clam shell type press you want to make sure it has a floating top platen, the reason is that you will want to do other substrates than just t shirts, ie tiles mouse pads etc. otherwise look at a swing away as you can bring the platen straight down on the substrate.

So basically..You would need the sub inks, ink jet printer and a heat transfer press?
